Henry has witnessed the destruction of a hurricane and helped people pick up the pieces. He has witnessed extreme poverty in urban and rural Haiti. He knows what it feels like to struggle with learning in a traditional school setting; he knows what it is like to not be chosen first; he knows what it like to have your friend turn on you. All of these experiences have helped hone Henry’s gift of empathy. He’s caring and reluctant to judge people based on appearance.
Henry is very mature for a young man of 18. He manages his finances well and is a hard worker. In 2012, he put his karting racing on hold to work from March to September at a local amusement part. The typical work week was 50+ hours; often, Henry would get home from work at midnight only to be back there by 7:00am—and he was always up and out the door on time without his parents having to wake him.
Henry is an adventurer…always has been and probably always will be. He drives a track-ready 1993 BMW 325is. He is a certified scuba diver, something that he and his mom achieved together. Henry loves the ocean, but more than anything Henry wants a chance to race.
Henry lived with his parents until April 1, 2013, when he moved to Canada to attend the Bridgestone Racing Academy (more about this on the back page). Henry has an older sister, Lauren, who is finishing her college degree this year and moving to Haiti to oversee an orphanage.
